Kreative Blogger Award!

The other day I was nominated for a Kreative Blogger Award by Oraia the Sphinx, hostess of Media Astra Ac Terra, The Scrying Bowl Podcast, and author of the Sphinx Words Blog who really isn't a cartoon sphinx. I have proof!

1. You must thank the (mythical cartoon animal) person who has given you the award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog (Booya!)
3. Link the person who has nominated you for the award (Ding!)
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting

The seven things people may find interesting about me...

1. I've mentioned my art background in brief on my podcast which is what this blog is mainly for.  I received my BFA in 2001 from Rowan University and my MFA in 2009 from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  And I was one of the workers who helped to build the World War II Memorial located in Washington DC and because of my participation in it I am one of the people listed on the Smithsonian website for it. I think everyone listed from the company got the same accreditation for the memorial, but I helped with the eagles; I worked on one of the wreathes and helped with finishing their installation; and another employee and I assembled the eight bronze columns which sit under each of the eight eagles.

2. I also had the honor of being asked to create a 9/11 Memorial for the Freemasons who tragically lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Further info and pictures can be found at the link provided.

3. I am a connoisseur of horror movies if that's an appropriate statement?  My first horror movie experience, not including Jaws or Poltergeist, was 1986 film The Fly directed by David Cronenberg and staring Jeff Goldblum; and being around 10 years old at the time, this movie scared the  living shit out of me!  For about a week after watching it, I couldn't sleep and I thought the Fly was coming to get me. No joke. Absolutely terrified.  Now when I watch that movie I am able recognize the slime, latex rubber, and animatronic movemements that make up the prop of the final creature, but as a child I was completely sold! Some of my long standing favorite horror movies are Night of the Living DeadDawn of the Dead, Day of the DeadCemetery Man, and Jason X.

4. For the last six years I have been a Freemason and if I told you anything else I would have to kill you. Just kidding. Maybe. There has to be something said about an organization -that a lot of people regard as being a secret society- who have their buildings out in the open, who will be a part of any parade, and that if someone wants to join all they have to do is ask.  Real secret.  Freemasonry is a good thing.  I've met the best people in the world through the fraternity and it really has helped me to become a better person.  My girlfriend, who I've been with for almost nine years, would completely stand by that statement.

5. I am also involved with doing cover art for a quaterly print magazine of dark imaginative fiction called Title Goes Here: and my first cover will be displayed on Issue #4 which comes out in July.

6. I'm pretty good at doing impressions which you may or may not agree with me on if you've listened to my podcast.  Though I've only done a few on the show so far with possibly more to come.  I also like to entertain people hence the podcast.

7. I have had several paranormal experiences and my interests in the paranormal has existed throughout my life since I was very young and a story for that can be found here.  I have my own investigation team who can be found here (the website needs to be reworked).  We have not been active in over a year due to my new podcasting interest, but also due to not being contacted.  I do enjoy recording EVP at locations and I find it fascinating, but I've gotten enough of them to make me content about the anomally. Also my equipment doesn't enable me to do any further research into the occurrence so if I'm not able to do this for other people, like for someone who contacted me, then I'm not likely to do it.
