Episode #025 - Magical Identity

In this episode we have a revealing and compelling conversation with occult author Taylor Ellwood about his new book Magical Identity. How can we apply magic in relation to our identity and how does our identity relate to the practice of magick? In A Corner in the Occult, we learn about 20th century Hermetic teacher Franz Bardon. During his unusual life, the three books he published during his life, Initiation into Hermetics, The Practice of Magical Evocation and The Key to the True Qabbalah are said to be a complete course in magick. In The Essence of Magick we discuss magickal names. Found in many traditions and religions of the world, is the practice of taking on a new name. What is the essence of the magical name in relation to magick and the practitioner? Come and explore this topic with us. I also read listener email and have an announcement to make about the future of the podcast. We also have the pleasure of hearing the new song "Sirens" from our featured artist Olga Nunes, whose new album LAMP will be released on May 15th. All this and more in this latest installment of The Infinite and the Beyond!

  3. gPodder is quite easy and very efficient. I have it on my Ubuntu machine wired direct to high speed internet so it downloads any of my programs pretty quickly and automatically for as many as you wish to stack up. I have all your work here and the meditation stuff via gPodder which I then downloaded into my MP3 player. I also use itunes on a windows machine but I prefer the way this one runs.

I enjoyed episode 25 which was a little different in that Mr. Ellwood (another well spoken guy) is doing things directed within which seems very practical and in his own case apparently quite successful in achieving his goals. Yes, it does seem to be quite the self help thing but there's a big need for that if people care to be honest about things. Ego at either end of the bell curve shuns any self-help stuff for different reasons but those who spend some time in the middle ground would be well served to read Ellwood.

Of course as for myself, I'm of the Mary Poppins school, you know, practically perfect but in this I'm quite guilty of creating my own universe as you might understand. :) I think Ellwood nailed things pretty well.
